SPF (or the Sender Policy Framework) is an email authentication protocol that helps prevent email spoofing. It allows the owner of a domain to specify which mail servers are permitted to send emails on behalf of that domain. When an email is sent, the receiving mail server checks the SPF record of the sender's domain to verify if the email is coming from an authorised server. If the email fails this check, it is likely to be marked as spam or rejected.
